Erth's Dinosaurs

Today is the day... had some breakfast got dressed put the normal goop in the LM's hair grabbed  our tickets and off we go to  .....
Erth's Dinosaur Petting Zoo and Meet the makers puppet workshop.

The LM was scared and I mean scared he sat on Kevin's lap and wrapped Kevin's arms around him and hung on to Kev for dear life..He started to relax and then sat next to me but then he got scared again and wrapped himself into my arms.He had his hands over his eyes and was peaking out of them at the show,It wasn't a terrified scare it was like an excited scare. He didn't want to go but just wanted to make sure we hung on to him.Annaliese sat on the front mats in front of the puppets she got scared a couple of times but she touched the big Dino's no problems.

After the show the had the baby's out for the kids to look at and touch....

MMMM do you think he will bite me Dee?....

Very slowly he touched him still making eye contact with Kevin or me...

Annaliese was happy to hold a baby .The LM was just happy to touch her belly...

And OMG they were beautiful. The whole show was magical. They are finishing in Sydney then going to Perth for a show then off to Broadway.Good Luck you guys put on a brilliant show for kids and Adults alike.

We were also lucky enough to be able to book into the "Meet the makers"puppet workshop .Here the kids we shown how to make their own puppet.
Well the LM loved this -jumped into it full on....you couldn't stop him he was really loving this part.

Concentration face....

I think he likes his puppet .What do you think?

This picture was taken outside at the Carriage works. Then I just changed it to Black and white.
I think it looks good.

So if you ever have the chance to see Erth's Dinosaurs I hope you try to go it is a truly enjoyable show if a little bit scary in some parts...But mostly fun

Am I dreaming?

Today started off great and I mean GREAT..

The community nurse came today.I am now down to just one visit a week instead of every second
day and even now she just checks my legs to see how they are healing and now she has to monitor my heart and crap I don't want to go over.I hate it...

But getting back to my wonderful start-  I removed all bandages cleaned my wounds up had my shower and was just waiting for her to come when I looked at my legs.they looked "different" They look really skinny like almost normal....then I had a thought "I wonder if I can put a shoe on now?"

Now it is going on to nearly four years since I have worn a shoe.I have one pair of flat thongs that has a buckle which we have  had to undo so it would fit but with all the bandages and the swelling it is really uncomfortable to wear for long periods  so I knew I had no chance with a normal shoe...
                                                                UNTIL now...............

Like I said I feel like Cinderella. This shoe fits.....OMG....... I wonder ....I mean should I...Will I .....try the other foot.My right foot is the worst one....So I even got out a different pair to try

I DID IT ..
I managed to get shoes on both feet,These were my old work shoes and I could get them on.....
I started to cry....
I took photos and sent them off via emails to mum, Kerry and my bestie Lisa .I sat back and looked and looked at my feet again, tears streaming down my face with happiness...

Then I rang Kevin."hey Kev you better cut up my credit cards I'm back and I am going shoe shopping"Well I am jumping the gun a little bit but at least I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is not just a faint glimmer but it's a very strong bright light and I am ready for it and whatever may happen...
But it dosn't hurt to start window shopping for shoes does it??

Scrapbooking yesterday

I haven't done any scrap booking for ages...I mean I like doing  it but it isn't everything to me ....
I am like a Jack of all trades but a master to none...My scrap pages are fine but I prefer the mini books more.

Anyway I saw this snowflake page on my blog travels (sorry I can't give the person who made it any credit but many thanks for a wonderful inspiration ) so I decided to scrap lift it....

I couldn't get the embellishments  in Australia  so thanks to Etsy I got them there and they were lots cheaper even with the postage added on....

So yesterday Kevin made a spreadsheet and was listing and numbering all our dvd's and putting them in the Union Jack cupboard we made so I has no access to the computer so I thought lets do this snowflake page.....which I did...

I really liked how it turned out considering how much I dislike the colour blue.

I was a roll then so I finished off this page which had been sitting in the cupboard for almost 2 years unfinished. All I had to do was glue a few  things down and add the writing 20mins later saw  another page finished.  Yeah..... and  Guess what it's another  blue page.....

I showed you the pink bunting I made for my neices birthday well I made this just before we left for her brother..........I wish I had bigger letters or something under them (on the pink I put a paper  doiley ) to show them up abit but it was a few minutes before we left so I thought this is good enough.

So that's going to be the end of "blue " for a while.....Bring on the pink.......

Labels

Do you ever read the labels that come attatched to the clothes we buy?

I don't I just cut them off and throw them away ....but for some reason this one caught my eye (glad it did ) and I had to read it twice to make sure it really said that...

It did say that and it did make me giggle to myself. So today I started my day with a smile.....Hope yours was just as good

Quick and fun craft.

I thought I would get back into the craft swing of it so as we are going to a birthday party this weekend what better way to start.I already have bought the birthday girl a Cabbage Patch Doll (remember those ? ) But who can resist some craft....Not me....

I bought this bunting already cut out and with the holes in it.It is a light way card paper so all I had to do was add a little paper doiley and then I went through all my letters and just used what I have...

I am happy how this turned out .The  birthday girl  that it is for is turning 2 and she loves bright pink  so I  think I made a good choice,

I love these name frames I make so when I got this cup cake punch (before hospital) I was just icthing to make some up using the punch...

Well  'Yeah'  now it's my chance and I love it.....This is a 5x7 inch frame from the cheap shop....It was $3 and all the papers I already had. Then for a finishing touch I put a hot pink pearl on each cupcake.

So for $3 this makes a cute present.

Both items took no time at all and I mean that maxium time would have been 30mins to do both.

So I am off now to wrap these up and get ready for the party...

A Footy Saturday..

It's grand final qualifier  fever in our house this Saturday night ...Go Bunnies...

Kevin and his family are big  Bulldog fans where as The Little Man and I are Rabbitoh fans ...Yeah go the Bunnies  !!!! ..It's weird but although  I don't understand footy  I do remember my Grand father being a Bunnie supporter so that's why I am and so is the LM.

I've got no chance of Peanut being a Bunnie fan as Emmanuel (Peanut's dad ) is also a doggie fan same as his family. So my little Peanut will be a Doggie fan boo hoo....

So it's on for this Saturday Night... .Two great teams (well one great team- The Bunnies and one so and so team   The Bulldogs ) will fight for their chance to be in the 2012  Grand final.

I am hoping and will even say a  little prayer that my Bunnies will win and they just might.... (but the Dogs I feel will just beat us on the day...Shh you didn't hear me say that.)

So Saturday night we are having a BBQ with some friends and family to watch the game and eat some yummy food...

There will be balloons, streamers good food and of course beer  cheering for our teams  and then there will be tears when my

                      MIGHTY BUNNIES WIN !!!!!!!

GO BUNNIES...........

Boo Hoo it's 11.19pm on Saturday night and I think you have figured it by my 1st two words,
The Bunnies lost and now the Bulldogs will go up against Melbourne Storm next weekend....
Boo Hoo Hoo...Good try Bunnies.

Red Velvet Cupcakes 2

Now a couple of weeks ago I wrote that I didn't understand the fascination that everyone seems to have with Red Velvet cakes or cupcakes...

So I decided to try some that I bought....which is what I wrote about in that post..(ha ha I don't know how to link back to that post sorry ) Nothing to rave about there I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them again... Even the icing was nothing special...

But it still kept coming into my head-Why are they so popular? What is so special about them ?

Enter Stage 2...It could have just been the previous cooks recipe so .I am going to make up a packet mix  of  White Wings Red Velvet Cupcakes.

So the results are in ...We all like these far better than the bought ones....Yes I will make these again..(actually I have already bought another packet )I don't like chocolate cake but I do like these.Kev said they have a nice aftertaste? and he enjoyed them...
So on the whole Red velevt cupcakes stage 2 was a sucess..

And yeah the Little Man did like them he has ate 4 already and licked the bowl and mixers clean he he he but that is what cooking is about "licking the bowl"...
Stay tuned for Red Velvet Cupcakes 3

Guess where we are going ?

What a silly heading.... "Guess where we are going? "  Come on  Dee there could be a of  million places you  could be going to ....the zoo...the movies....a picnic at Buckingham Palace.....get the drift ?

No we are going to see Dinosaurs....

Yes you heard me right Dinosaurs and no that is not the drugs doing the  talking either it is the truth....

HOW !!! WHERE !!! Did you say HOW ???

Well today I was reading  Life as we know it's blog..... I know I know I am going to say it but here goes "Go and check it out it is a really good read about everything -craft family -ideas  -you will like it I do... Anyway  Lisa (the blogger ) wrote about taking her kids to The Illawarra Fly to see a show by
Erth's Dinosaurs well the pictures looked so great  I thought we  have to take the LM to this so the search began.....

Where do you find dinosaurs in Sydney????

Where else but at the Carriage works at 245 Wilson St Eveleigh (Redfern)

It is on for a couple of days next week for the school holidays ....2 sessions a day.. I really should have looked up all the details but I was too excited about finding them and getting my dates correct for me...

They also are having a puppet workshop for the kids by the people who make these dinosaurs where each child takes home their own puppet. So I booked the kids for that one as well...

.
We are going with our friend Brie and her beautiful daughter Annaliese so the kids are going to love it... I hope you will check it out because the images I have seen looks amazing...

The LM gets a bit shy at times that's why I am glad Annaliese is coming she is a really confident little girl who will make the LM comfortable enough to participate in the puppet workshop.Cause if it was just him alone there I don't think he would so readily do the workshop...Fingers crossed...

I will show you some pictures after we have been there...

Thanks

Image from Tamar's wonderful and inspiring blog. Please check it out.She is so simply awe inspiring to me that I hope you will get that feeling as well.......

Today I am very thankful as I will be tomorrow and the next day and next and so on...

I am not going to get mushy but I am very lucky and so very thankful for everything I have in my life....But from now on I will let others know how grateful I am and how much I appreciate them.
.

After I was discharged from hospital I said to Kevin can we stop at the bottle shop and get a carton of beer......Why he said' I have plenty of beer at home.'.(he is so cute  thinking this beer is for him ) No it's not for you Kev but I want us to take it over to the Ambulance Depot to leave for the guys there,.'.OH' he said' I thought it was for me' (with a pout on those  kissable lips (yuk mush..)....)

So off  we went and got our beer ( well the Ambulancemen beer ) - then we went over  to the depot and Kevin gave the carton to a very surprised receptionist.

He told her (I was in the car ) that the ambulance men have saved my wife's  life 3 times since January and that we were extremely grateful for this... (I told Kevin that he was grateful he he he ) .Like I said she was shocked but very grateful for this and said she will pass this on and took our name and number.
We  don't think many people acknowledges these honourable and hard working men and women  and just take them for granted due to her reaction....

Its a horrible  thing to admit to   but I was one of those people who just thought  Oh if you are sick call an Ambulance they will fix it end of story...... Not anymore ...

When Kev came out and told me what was said and her reaction I felt really good inside and know we did the right thing.Well it was the right thing for us just something small and what we wanted to do...

I am not going to tell anyone what to do or not to do that is your business  but I am going to continue to take charge of my life and say thanks as needed instead of thinking it....

Now to all our friends and family please don't think that if your nice to us we are going to give you a cartoon of beer......WE AIN'T..ha ha ha...
