Miss Lilly

Miss Lilly has become such an important part of our lives I cant remember her not being here...

She has been through a lot in her first 12months.

She has had two big operations on her legs and been desexed....

Yet she is still the lovable laid back fur ball we love...

The LM and her have a beautiful bond and she just loves him....

I love the way he talks to her calling her baby or honey  he is such an affectionate little guy...

After her last operation we had her clipped as her fur was all different lengths and she looked a mess...

But now with a bow in her fur she could go out partying...

Love you Miss Lilly you complete our family....

Button flowers

I don't know where I saw these little button flowers but I was determined to make some....

I didn't have a pattern so I just made it up.....

You need

Buttons with four holes .
Cotton.
Crochet hook I used a 1.25 hook

I started by threading the cotton through and knotting it to the button....

Then I used my needle and drew through the thread in the first hole and made a double crotchet....

Then made two chain....if the button is bigger I make three chain....

Repeat this till the end and join with a slip stitch....

You should have five double crochet stitches...

Now do one chain....
In the next space do one double crochet then four treble ,one double crochet then  this is your petal
repeat this four more times....

petal 1..

petal 2...

opps I forgot petal 3...
petal 4....

Now you have one cute little button flower....

Depending on size sometimes I do five or six treble for each petal its up to you...

I have now made a heap of those unsure what I will use them for maybe on a scrap page who knows I just know I like them...

T shirt yarn rug...

I have been seeing all these t-shirt yarn rugs around and so I just had to make one....

I got my yarn from Lincraft for $9.95 a ball...

I ended up using 3 balls...

I downloaded the pattern from the net for an oval rug....

It made up really well and was so nice to use...

This is where the pattern finished ....

What...

So I just made up my own pattern for the last few rows.....

I didn't want to buy any more yarn as it was too expensive so I used what I had ...

Yeah all done......

It doesn't look real big does it....

So I put a pair of shoes on it and guess what you could use it as a mat for when you got out of the shower....

Or you could use it as a large  doiley on your dressing table.....

Either way I like it and will most likely make another I'll wait till the yarn goes on special or I will try Zpagetti which is another tshirt yarn ...

Cake pop cones..

Yesterday I told you about the cake stall at the LM's and how I made Ice Cream Cupcakes.

Well today I am showing you these unreal Cake Pop Cones.

They sold out as soon as they were placed on the stall made me feel great....

First off I got a piece of styro foam and using a apple corer I made holes ,boring but that way when the pops were made i  had some where for them to dry...

The night before I made my cake pops balls I had to make them a lot bigger than normal but I just used a cone to see how big it had to be then I placed in the freezer till needed...

Melt your chocolate and just set aside....

I dipped the cone into the melted chocolate....

Then stuck the cone on top of the cake pop....

I forgot to say  I poured my melted chocolate into a plastic cup as it makes it easier.....

Now get your cones and dip into the melted chocolate till coated bring out and gently tap on  the side of the cup...

Now here is where you have to work fast....

Have your lollies ready and pop the Jaffa on top and sprinkle your lollies on this chocolate dries FAST....

Place into the foam which we made earlier....

There you have it

Cake Pop Cones....

They look like choc top ice creams don't they....

You can use any flavour cake mix for your cake pop I used vanilla...

The same goes for the decorations use whatever you want....

The bright sprinkles are "Nerds" and the other one is "popping candy".

I like the popping  candy but thought the other looked brighter...

Hope you make some of these they were a big hit at the cake stall and then I had to make some on the weekend for a friends sons birthday party and the went so fast the kids loved them..

Ice Cream Cupcakes

The LM had a cake stall at school this week and I knew there would be heaps of cup cakes so I wanted to do something different...

So I did.....

I made Ice Cream Cupcakes...

Here's how I did it....

Use a mini muffin tin and place your ice cream cones in this.

Your cones will be stable as you bake them now....

You will be putting this in the oven cones, tray and cake  mix don't worry it does work...

I made up a cupcake mix that I use all the time or you could use a packet mix...

I filled the cones with cake mix  almost to the top...

Cook in a medium oven for 15-20 mins or until golden...

Some mix may overflow but that's ok just break it off if you want...

Let cool...

I used pre made frosting as I was short on time but hey I do like this icing it pipes really well.

I just piped a swirl on top so it looks like a soft frosting cone....

They look good like this but they are for kids lets make the more fun....

I used a Jaffa for the top then I sprinkled "Nerd" lollies over the icing .....

You can use whatever lollies or cake decorating sprinkles  that you have on hand...

So there you have it Ice Cream Cupcakes.....

So simple.....

So easy......

The best part was apparently they were one of the first things to go at the cake stall tomorrow I'll show you another version that sold out just as fast....
